Speechbook Articulation Activity!

This is probably one of my most creative products to date! It includes 25 speech sounds in initial position. 11 of those speech sounds have multiple Speechbook pages for older/younger students. It has been a big hit already in many of speech rooms! There is at least 40 hours worth of time invested into this product and there are 36 pages of articulation fun.

The Speechbook will be a work in progress, as I have full intentions to add to it over time. As I add speech sounds, the price will go up. That means if you purchase now you will be getting all the additions for free over time! 

There is a /s/ freebie version for your convenience. Go ahead and download it, use it with your kids and I'll be surprised if you don't come back and purchase the full version! Many people have done this already!

Halloween Riddles and Fun for Older Students

Here is a fun supplement for the month of October. It was always hard for me to find fun age appropriate things to do for "fun" as a supplement to my speech products for Halloween, so this seemed to fit perfect this year! 

I hope your kids enjoy it! I had some of my students read through them and tell jokes to each other already in preparation to bringing this activity to you guys, and my students laughed and laughed. I also made them explain why the joke was funny to emphasize the play on words aspect of the activity.

A quick and easy printout for swallow precautions in acute care/inpatient rehab!

I work in acute care on the weekends and I wanted to revamp the swallow precautions sheet that I use. I tape this above my patient's beds so family members can see and any staff member that walks into the room can see the current swallow precautions for the patient with dysphagia.

Summer Zoo Visit Freebie

I was recently at the Zoo and saw many families and children interacting and talking about the animals. I wanted to provide parents with a simple resource to refer to for some simple questions to ask their school age children when at the Zoo to provide for some real life language/vocabulary stimulation. This is an easy sheet to refer to to provide some carryover for vocabulary skills learned during the school year during speech sessions.

End of the Year Student Information Page

I always like to have a quick snapshot view of a student at the beginning of each school year. I made a student info sheet to place in the students working file at the end of the year. This will allow any therapist to pick the folder up next school year and not have to do a bunch of research about the student regarding dates and goals/current accuracies.

I have some relatively low language students in the ID classroom this year, so I made this to help them! It has been successful and they really like the spring clip art! Valentine's Vocabulary Freebie

Good Morning All! Today I have a short and sweet vocabulary activity that you can use during the next few weeks. It includes some general course based vocabulary that I have had to define to my students lately (some of them are just added in from kids asking me what words meant). Head over to my TPT store to grab the freebie and be sure to check out my other vocabulary activities while you are there if that is something you target with your students. The vocabulary words are more on an elementary level, but secondary population caseload contains a lot of low level language goals. So with that being said it may or may not apply to your caseload specifically, but you might be able to pick and choose words from the 8 pages of vocabulary words that best fits your caseload!

Pragmatics (Descriptions, Feelings, Connotations and Registers of Language) Mini-Lesson and FREEBIE!

I have been very busy prepping for my maternity leave from school and nesting around my house. My baby boy should be here within the next month, so I am very excited! I have a few more items in the works and hopefully I can get them out to you before he comes!

This new product is a mini-lesson that I finally put on paper. A lot of times the connotations and emotional meaning behind words are very abstract for my students with social goals. In years past, I have started out with them describing objects with concrete features and transitioning them to describing words and people with more abstract thoughts. When a child learns that emotion can be concrete and felt to a listener, I feel the student can be more aware of how words can "hurt" others or have an attached meaning that maybe the student did not intend to attach to his words.

There are 8 sets of worksheets included in this product. The first description worksheet set I have made available as a freebie. This can be used to enhance vocabulary as well, because I picked higher level description words for the activities that are more fit for a upper elementary, junior high or lower high school student.

2 freebies is better than 1!

This month's Speechie Freebies from my blog are here! I have had some challenging students with "ch" and "dj" goals, so I made these a while ago and really haven't premiered them in a while on here so I thought this was a good time of year to do just that. It is a short and simple activity so its meant as a quick activity and not a full blown articulation activity. I have given these to students for homework and it worked out really well.

3 new products I've been waiting to premier!

I have been using these items this year to address my higher level students that are so very close to being dismissed. 

The first item I wanted to address articulation carryover since a lot of my students with articulation goals are on their way out of speech therapy at the junior high level. I am all about accountability in my speech room and this packet makes the student accountable for their progress with carryover and their ultimate goal of dismissal from speech.

Here are a few of the pictures from the Carryover Currency! My junior high students love earning "money". I have used the money included in this activity as well as the lakeshore money I bought from Lakeshore last year. Either way they love seeing a "financial gain" to their progress. I always tell them it is like the real world. The more you love what you do, the money will come. The harder you work, the money will come.

The next item I am premiering tonight is a language activity that targets higher level vocabulary for secondary students. This was also designed for my higher level language students that are getting ready to be dismissed. I really wanted to do something extra challenging and they were stumped at first, but are getting quicker each time we complete the activity! The last item I am premiering tonight is a freebie that has already been downloaded by others today =) This item was featured to help some of my students with social goals realize that facial expressions are not the only way to communicate non-verbally. This activity was meant to show that a game of charades is communicating and it narrows it down to acting out emotions/feelings. I felt it was a good transition from something fun to something more serious and transitional into a real life scenario.
