New Interactive Subject/Verb Agreement Activity and other Interactive Items I have in my store right now!

I don't normally do this, but I am writing about my own activity. I have a lot of students with grammar goals this year and many of them struggle with is/are/was/were so I decided to make a product. My junior high students really have loved incorporating the iPad into therapy thus I have made another interactive product. This item requires no printing and can be used on any device that displays a PDF. I happen to utilize it on my iPad.

This is the main screen that shows the options for ways to target this subject-verb agreement goal.

This is one of 6 example screens that the SLP/teacher can use to teach prior to completing the therapy tasks.

There are three ways I have arranged the "create a sentence" task. One where the student needs to create a sentence in present tense using the correct verb.

Another area where the student is required to create a sentence in past tense using the correct verb.

The last area is where the student can choose to create a sentence in present or past tense, but still must use the correct verb.

The other task in this activity is where students are required to tell the verb that goes with the sentence. I always have my students look for key words like "yesterday, last night etc" to determine if it should be a present tense or past tense verb that goes with the sentence and I also have them analyze the sentence to determine if there is one or more subjects to also help determine which verb is correct for the sentence.

My students continue to need a visual, so I printed out one of the slides for them to have at all times throughout the activity to help them determine which verb to use. This helped them a lot.

Tangled Tuesday with How Pintearesting and Major Speech Pathology Fun by a Minor Girl

Today I am Tangled Up with the How Pintearesting Blog =) Her TPT store is under the name All Yall Need. I am so glad she contacted me about Tangled Tuesday because honestly I had not heard of her store before, but NOW I am GLAD that I have! She has some really unique activities and they appear to have a lot of time invested in them.  Since my life has been SOOO crazy lately (my sister is getting married, end of school year, etc) she has had to deal with all of that as well. We had to postpone from an earlier date so props to her I had the opportunity to review an activity called Park Place. It is a neat activity that contains many activities in one! So here it goes:

This next picture shows the instructions and there are multiple slides in the activity that list MANY books spring themed books and I thought that was an awesome plus to the activity!

 The first game in the activity features categories! These are very cute and LARGE cards that are great for little hands to be able to pick up easily. Sometimes my little people have trouble with fine motor due to their disability so the large cards were a plus. 

The second game features rhyming! They are some cute graphics and again the cards are large for small hands and difficult fine motor skills! 

The 3rd and final game of the activity features basic concepts! I used this activity the most as I have many little ones that are having difficulty with basic concepts!

Last but not least the activity includes some worksheets that correlate great with the activity and this was a unique way to use the same activity with some older students. 

Overall this was a great and VERY functional activity that I used to target many goals! This would be a great addition to any speech room that has preschoolers or young students! Very cute graphics were selected and very well thought out. I especially liked how she listed spring books so you could choose various books to read along with the activity to incorporate more of a a "theme like approach" to therapy.

Thanks as always for tuning into Tangled Tuesday! This is going to be the last Tangled Tuesday until my next school year starts! I will be working in adult rehab all summer so the majority of my TPT items would not work with those patients (although maybe some). So I will be having some blog posts over the summer, but just not as many as I usually do during the school year! I have some app reviews that I have done throughout the year that will post on different dates throughout the summer and I will of course be working on some materials for you all for the next school year!

Tangled Tuesday with Speech Universe and Major Speech Pathology Fun by a Minor Girl

Today is Tangled Tuesday with Speech Universe! She has some exciting materials and I had the honor of reviewing Secret Code Inferences using QR codes =) This was a really neat activity because they students get to use a new kind of technology to figure out the answers AND they had a lot of fun at the same time!

All of the activity cards have 2 different stages- there is an option to have an open ended question and the second set has answer choices. This was great to have 2 different levels so that the activity fit the majority of my caseload that have inferencing goals.

"What are they going to do?" will be the first activity portion featured because this is the activity I used the most.

"Where am I?" is up next =)

Next comes "What Am I?"

Next is "What Happened?"

Last, but not least is "Who Am I?"

There are also nice title cards that are the same size as the activity cards to use to separate the activities if you have them rubber banded together. I like the idea of the title cards being the same size as the activity cards =)

In order to use this activity you will need to download a QR reader on your Iphone or Ipad. I downloaded the app "QR reader for Iphone". My kids LOVED using my Ipad to scan for the answers. 

This overall was a huge hit and I used the activity for WH questions, problem solving and word finding! This activity was easily used to target multiple goals.

This activity was awesome because it offers REAL pictures with the stimulus words. There are so many stimulus words for each sound that it made the activity really easy to use for multiple sessions! I also liked that the words were age appropriate. She did a great job at selecting words specifically for this activity! That was really helpful for the younger students. The BEST thing about this activity was that it can be played with any game board-Candy Land, Chutes and Ladders, any game board from a speech therapy company and I even used it with some of the game boards from TPT purchases. You could definitely use these cards with a definition activity or a describing activity as well. I often use my TPT purchases for more areas other than what they are used for! There are many other sets of this activity featuring different sounds. Activity Tailor has a wonderful blog that offers great information from many areas!
